Some of the things I learned:
- FontLab leaves a value on the stack after the pre-program. Bad stack hygiene!
- Zone alignment code is terribly inefficient in FontLab.
- All values are stored in the instruction streams as double bytes even if they would fit in a byte. That’s a lot of extra zeroes in a font file!
- There are 2 functions in the font program that are never called.
- The alignment zone widths are stored in the font, but never used.
