I spent the last summer of my university days locked away in a dorm room trying to start my own business. It was mostly based on CGI.pm and GD.pm. That code is still running, with changes, a couple of decades later.

So, I owe a lot to Lincoln Stein, who was the author of those modules. When I asked him to write an article for this year's Advent Calendar, I was thrilled that he accepted. 🎁🙏
