@mewo2 it depends what you like to do but i really liked exploring the tiny bars of Golden Gai in Kabukicho, you can also get the metro into Kamakura for something quieter in the Tokyo area, if you want to go to any otaku ish cafes you need to book ages in advance or get up early, there’s cooler stuff to do at new year than stand in the cold at shibuya etc. i went for a similar time frame so i can make some more specific suggestions if you need :)
