I mentioned the other day that I'd like to install Linux on my laptop in the next few days.

I'm not sure which distro to get, so I'm curious whether people have suggestions. In the past, I've mostly used distros that are very convenient distros with a lot of mass-market appeal like Mint or (a long time ago) Ubuntu. Here's what I'm looking for with this one:

• A "daily driver," not a "project car". I've run Arch and Gentoo before, and they need more upkeep than I'm willing to go through for what will be the computer I take places to work on things.

• KDE Plasma, because it's got some fancy graphics and customization options that will make my friends go "Oooo!" (I know there are even more customizable options out there, so I'll entertain similar suggestions, but see above about not wanting a new hobby.)

• Steam support.

• Bonus points for not being based on systemd, but I don't know how realistic that is given my other goals.
