I have some sort of inflammation problem. I don't know that it is caused by my diet, but if i go off keto for a length of time, say < a couple weeks, then I have some pretty awful joint pain, particularly costovertebral, costosternal, and hip pain. It's enough to make it hard to turn over in bed, and coughing is like being stabbed.
I have tried to isolate and eliminate potential allergies. I have gone vegetarian for about 6 months, gone completely gluten free both on and off the vegetarian diet, gone whole unprocessed Mediterranean-style diet. In every case other than keto, life is miserable.
I'm fortunate that I don't hate keto, but it's a less joyful lifestyle than I'd prefer. I'm unable to identify a root cause that's making keto a necessity. To be fair I've only seen maybe 6 doctors about it, but I don't like any "answers" to it, which are mainly disabling my immune system. Many doctors argue against keto, without which I can't even function normally.
I don't know how to find out what the problem is. Consider this a Hail Mary.
