The Democrats ran a campaign on genocide, locally, globally.
22 billion dollars spent on exterminating an indigenous Muslim population suffering under apartheid. Wheeled out a Cheney towards the end as a fuck you to all Muslim voters. Had Bill Clinton push a speech about how Palestinians, well they actually deserve it and all the deaths weren't even that much.
The Democrats in power ran concentration camps via ICE, maintained and accelerated mass deportations. Approved and funded further border wall nonsense. 1 million dead from Covid. Opposed federal funding for abortion, refused to make abortion a right, instead leveraging it as a voting issue as 100s of women, mostly Black, died from pregnancy complications after Roe vs. Wade was repealed. Was against medical rights for trans people. Supported torture programs, supported increased domestic surveillance, supported massive increases in police funding and powers. Supported fracking and increased oil drilling. STILL refuses to lift sanctions against Cuba who can't import basic materials to build necessary infrastructure like power stations.
Fascism isn't coming to America because the Democrats lost. Fascism is America and the current Democratic party revelled in it.
Why y'all worrying about the poor white liberals who voted for a genocidal government that has lost? Not a peep about the Palestinians, Lebanese, Syrians, Iranians, Yemenis, Iraqis that Israel is bombing? Not a word about the Indigenous nations still suffering under colonial rule? Never a sound about the continued state violence against Black people?
You should be celebrating the fact the Democrats lost. They ran on genocide. They knew stopping the genocide in Palestine would win them key states they lost in. They chose not to. They were punished. Rightly so. They absolutely should not have been rewarded.
If you have one takeaway from this election, it's don't rely on governments. Not locally. Not nationally. Check in with your neighbours. Check in with your friends. Organise locally, communally and support your locally oppressed communities.
