@tretron Only USB C plugs allow higher voltages than 5V...so, did you mean that?
USB PD (power delivery) includes a protocol that negotiates power between the upstream and downstream device. That happens on pins that a USB C connector has, but that the micro-USB connector lacks. So if you want 12V, you need USB C.
