After Code BEAM Europe, my opinion on Gleam changed. It reached version 1.0 this year, can be used for backends by targeting the Erlang runtime but also for frontend by generating JavaScript. It has types powerful enough to avoid nil references and ease refactoring but not too crazy so the language should be easy to learn. The syntax is super intuitive. It's still young and it has less momentum than Elixir (who is also slowly adopting types) but I'm impressed.
