If you google for how to use an old DV/HDV camcorder without Firewire, you'll find tons of search results, but basically the summary of all of them is "find a computer with a firewire port, or install a firewire card." Which isn't useful in any way, and these videos and articles only seem to exist to soak up the searches for ad rev.
It's extraordinary how much human endeavor is just to appease Google these days.
