I've been invited to a semi-official city event and the invitation specified 平服 "regular wear," which, to a country boy, means jeans and a t-shirt. I'm informed that in Japan, though, it means a suit and tie. As opposed to a coat and tails, I guess?
Anyway, I'm cosplaying as a respectable member of society today. Ack.
