But for real, I think it's both a generational thing and a personality thing as well. I legit feel happy for anyone who derives joy from social media interactions, especially if sharing stuff helps them mentally in some way. But with how difficult it is for me to render myself vulnerable, it takes significant effort to expose myself in any way, so stepping out of that comfort zone is something I reserve for friends or the very rare occasion where I feel that the person/situation is worth it.
Regarding the "terminally online" thing, I've come to realise that people just use the term for anyone who is a little bit more online than they are, which is clearly the optimal level of online to be. XD
