I think System76 did it. They built a Linux desktop environment I actually like with Cosmic. I've been hunting for a Linux distribution that meets what I've been looking for out of a desktop operating system and Pop_OS with Cosmic hits it out of the park.
It is super rough in it's alpha form. But I will absolutely deal with that while they refine things.
