@TeacherGriff Most people give up without trying, or even thinking about it, looking deeper, care about the consequences of their (in)actions. Can they care? I think they can, because they selectively are able when it profits them.
Apathy has generated inertia and a heap of justifications and lies they tell themselves that they have to dig themselves out of…which is more work they don’t want to do. Objects at rest tend to stay at rest, objects in motion tend to stay in motion.
