been noticing a rise in anti-poly sentiment online. i dunno quite how to phrase this, but it somehow feels less authentic than other queer-directed hate, at least the kind i'd personally have any relation to

i swear i've seen like three "why are poly people ugly" threads on reddit

it's like,

i don't even understand the accusation enough to disagree

like where are you rubbing elbows with poly strangers while knowing they're poly without it being a relevant thing

@heatherhorns_lite even if that were true, all it proves is that conventionally attractive (read: privileged) people are more apt to participate in toxic swinger lifestyles - which... isn't the own that the poster thinks it is

@heatherhorns_lite I feel like I’m so used to people coming up with political or moral justifications for their personal hate that it’s almost jarring to see the raw “I just hate your life choices” rattling around loose out there

@heatherhorns_lite@plush.city reddit literally is the worst about poly stuff in my opinion. i avoid any thread that mentions polyamory and polygamy simply because the comments are full of this.
