I'm moderately confident this "HAND CONTROL" pinout is looking at the end of the plug, and not the socket at all. But pulling out the multimeter to check voltages costs nothing. Getting it wrong, not so much.

That diagram is looking in to the socket. Or looking down on to the plug.
I cut up an old four pin telephone extension cable that's been in my box of random wires unused for a decade, and the yellow and red pins are power.
