@Npars01 @ElleGray She quit. Biden and her handed over power without a fight and left.

I don't know who our David is, but it wasn't Harris it seems.

Harris didn't quit.

She did a decent campaign against some of the richest people on the planet.

@Npars01

Honest question from a British person here. Has Kamala Harris been in the news over there since the election? Over here in the UK, I don't think I've seen or heard a thing about her since then. I seriously wondered if she was ok.

(Not that I follow politics a lot, in fact these days I try to avoid hearing a lot of it...)

@suearcher @Npars01 Silence, at least via MSM (whom doesn't focus much on "opposition party" news much).

No money in covering Harris.

Harris is Californian. She's been busy with fires.

There's also published speculation that the former VP will run for governor next year. I doubt she will; though it would be good to see her counter the federal attacks on citizenships rights that way, other Dems want to run. Either way, that suggests she remains politically active.

@nazokiyoubinbou @Npars01 @ElleGray

The problem is, it's very difficult to fight for democracy when your opponent has won by both the national and popular vote. What were they supposed to do? Pull a January 6th? Biden signed a bunch of executive orders and did everything he could to slow down and interfere with Trump, and that's all he could do within the system of law and order which he was trying to protect.

The election is over now, power has been transferred, and hindsight is going to be 20/20. Let's not infight over this.

We can let that cartoon represent the Canadian people.

@Raccoon @Npars01 @ElleGray Oh I don't mean for there to be misunderstandings here. Legally there wasn't a whole lot that Harris could have done (though I really wish she hadn't conceded quite so quickly.)

I just mean simply that if you want to find someone to stand up to the new regime, you're going to have to look elsewhere. (I'd bet on AOC being among the better bets.)

Definitely AOC, and any other Democrats really, and let's also remember to stand behind any Republicans who turn on him: we only need to get 2 votes in the house or 4 votes in the senate to shut down anything he does, and it's looking like we have that, as long as we keep up the support.
