That about 25% of households are single income (hello my fellows) is exactly why all these Liberal ground levels were stupefied that their boasts of the economy fell flat.
Whatever non existent rise in wages happened, most of the single income households would only enjoy a single bump in single income against collective household purchasing need so they absolutely got fucked by inflation in a way that two or more earning households didnt.
We likely already were near full employment by dependent neccesity and gaps in employment being points of extreme stress and distress to avoid at most costs, risk adverse to opportunities that might expose us with 'last in first out' layoffs.

And the split along poors and richies who are single income does not benefit a political thrust that is basically telling you to lie to yourself for some specious greater good.
