As much as I like to spend time on high mountain peaks and ridges, where the views are unobstructed, it was still nice to have some cover nearby for most of the day I spent mountain biking in this remote area southwest of Silverton, Colorado. #colorado #scenery #mountainbiking #hiking

@doughayes I rarely get to the mountains, but on my local hikes, I really appreciate being surrounded by forest. It blocks the cold wind in the winter and the hot sun in the summer. It turns what would have been an endurance hike into a pleasant walk.

On the other hand, if you're willing to freeze your rear-end off, I'm happy to enjoy your pictures!
