I will never forget that this is what Americans voted for. Not by accident. Not for the lolz. Not as a protest. On purpose. And yes. I know “not all Americans.” I know that many Americans on this site, in particular, opposed him. But not nearly enough of you. You have declared economic war on us, your most loyal ally and trading partner. You have torn up trade treaties and a century of friendship over a lie. There is virtually no fentanyl coming over the Canadian border. And very few migrants.

Tonight, as a Canadian, as an Albertan - and, incidentally as a once-proud graduate of Stanford University - I stand with my country. With our farmers. Our energy workers. Our auto workers. Our forestry workers. All our exporters. And all our consumers. This is going to hurt our economy in ways we can’t yet imagine. But I believe we will hold fast and hold strong.

You did it anyway.

You did it actively (by voting for him) or passively (by not actively fighting against him and hoping things would work out for the best). Either way you're culpable and YOU have to fix your problem.

Then you'll have to rebuild over a century of goodwill blown in a few short years.

Trump won because of corruption and voter suppression, dawg, not because Americans don’t give a fuck. Congrats on falling into Trump’s nationalist trap and forgetting we’re all on the same side, tho
