@clive This is the kind of politics often seen in small AsiaPacific nations over the last few decades. I don't know if you see any news from these countries in the US, but in Australia we do.
Some typical events would be:
government finds an excuse to put opposition leader in jail,
Military refuses to fire on citizens
Military overthrows government, then takes power itself,
Political leaders are assassinated,
Deposed leader flees to another country to avoid reprisals.
I'm waiting to see what the US military does - if at some point they draw a line against Trump's excesses. #uspol
