We’ve talked for at least a decade about retiring in Mexico. Both to try to make our small nest egg last and because we both prefer the culture there. With the US sliding further into hell, yes, there’s an extra impetus. And yet…
It now feels like we have a responsibility to stay.
But a responsibility has to be expressed in action. We’re fairly healthy but my wife is 72. What do we do in these times that is grounded, humble, connected, and not some egotistical fantasy? That’s the discussion.

@impermanen_ it's very difficult, at my (our) age it's pretty clear that imposing my/our social and political opinions on the world becomes ethically difficult as we won't suffer the consequences...it's a question of ethics.
