Nothing like a morning of cultural exchange to lighten the spirit.
My Syrian neighbour made me coffee, and we drank it and ate dates while we swapped phrases, he practiced his English and I learned some words in Arabic, and then we swapped vegetables from our gardens.

Unfortunately we don't have a lot of food overlap, he doesn't eat wheat (except a bit of bulgur), and we don't eat meat/eggs/dairy.
But we can continue swapping salads :)

@keira_reckons Bulgar the way a particular Turkish restaurant fixed it (with a tomato sauce) was amazing. I should learn to make that, since haven't had it in like 20 years.
