5 years ago today the UK left the EU, despite 62% of voters in Scotland backing remain.

An independent Scotland could rejoin the EU, regain our individual rights as European citizens, and have our own seat at the table to work with our friends across the continent. 🇪🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This is why I, as an Englishman... have backed another Scottish referendum on independence.

They voted no last time because of the campaign to scare people into believing that leaving the UK meant leaving the EU.

2yrs later... selfish wankers in England & Wales voted for brexit whilst Northern Ireland and Scotland were overwhelmingly for remain.

It's also worth reminding everyone, everytime... that only 38% of eligible votes were cast for leave... not the 52% of votes cast... 68% of people voted for remain or didn't bother to vote at all.... in a non binding referendum that had no actual legal basis to be carried out. It was all about protecting the tax havens of the rich.

So Scotland got screwed twice... give them the vote, let them decide their future and tell westminster to fuck off.

@Anomnomnomaly @ScottishGreens The worst of it is, in reality the chances of an independent Scotland being allowed to join the EU are nil. Spain would not allow it.

No wonder the Scots are so damned angry. And they have every right to be. The Etonians did them dirty.

@hedders The first draft of my post was brusque too! The Spanish veto (along with "get to the end of the queue", "adopt the Euro" and a few others) are longstanding myths constantly being peddled by Unionists, so quoting them is guaranteed to get any indy supporter's hackles up.
