I dunno, if I was planning to throw molotov cocktails at politicians, and then got cold feet, I don't think my next step would be to walk up to a police officer, turn myself in, and tell them I was inspired by Luigi but then decided I didn't want to hurt anyone.

Maybe that really did happen. Maybe. But then again, it sure is convenient for people trying to make a case for terrorism charges against Mangione.
