Am not in the least bit religious. A massive reason for my own lack of faith is having watched both of my children suffer from the pain of cancer. So it will come as no surprise that I am very suspicious of those who like to wave religion in our faces. Why for example do so many of our politicians make such a big play of their faith, making sure the cameras follow them?

@IndyRichard They think it gives them an 'air of respectability', that they are Good People. As opposed to dodgy atheists without a moral compass.
I'm never bothered by people being religious, I just don't understand it. Especially as I've seen scientific people, or engineers used to dealing in absolutes turn off their curiosity. They believe in everything they are fed by a book, or preacher, without question.
Funny ol' world.

@IndyRichard Even though churches and religions of multiple flavours have been shown to be two faced, evil, control freaks there are still enough people who will keep thinking that belief in a god makes someone appear a bit more moral than one who does not.
Quite frankly, from what I’ve read of the bible and seen happen to people in this world, if there is a god then he’s a cnt and he can fck right off.
