Toot

I keep coming back to the fact that they finally did ask MAGA "So when was America great?" and the consensus, regardless of age, was that America was great when they were kids.

So, these folks had a really bad transition into adulthood because they're nostalgic for when their parents controlled their lives and the world was less complicated because they didn't know much about it.

No self awareness. None.

@DabonSteed Al Franken discussed this in one of his books, many years ago. He wrote to a bunch of conservatives to ask them when America was at its best. They gave a bunch of different answers, but each one was roughly the time that the respondent was around ten years old.

@DabonSteed I suspect that LGBTQIA+ polling would give a very different answer to this question. Personally I didn’t like being closeted and bullied.

@Lyle @DabonSteed That's the worst, some gypsy (with all respect to good Romani people, this guy deserves to be called that) asked for some money and OK no problem I'll give you some, after it he asked something along the lines do you like men or something like that. I said no because I value my safety and I don't owe anyone especially strangers my sexuality. He said something like you look like one or something like that and we just went our ways.

@DabonSteed So the real answer is “able to walk and talk, but dependent on someone else to house/feed/clothe/educate them, not contributing to society, ignorant of how anything actually worked, powerless to make any dramatic changes in the direction of their life, and ripe for indoctrination and/or exploitation”.

No wonder they like Russia so much.

@DabonSteed

Yeah, this gets me too. Maybe I was just a lot more politically aware but it sure wasn't great. We lived through a LOT of shit and these people are so ignorant and oblivious they didn't even fucking KNOW about it.
