Toot

Anyone that knows me knows I am and always have been a big fan of waterfalls. I know a lot of photographers move past waterfalls, feeling like once you've photographed one, you've photographed all - not me!

For #WaterfallWednesday I bring you Cucumber Falls in Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania. This was a summertime visit and I believe my 3rd time to the area.

@jeffreytadlock That’s a great photo Jeffrey. I really like the framing by the trees on the side. Can’t imagine moving past waterfalls, they’re so much fun to photograph.

@StewartHPhotos Thank you! I was quite pleased with the framing. I'd photographed this waterfall before, but I think this composition was my favorite!

And yes, no way can I just walk past a waterfall! :D

@jeffreytadlock love this comp!! It’s crazy how similar this spot is to a one of the falls in Virgin Falls SNA down here in Tennessee. Gives me some ideas for the best time I’m down there!

@jbeesfilm Did you post an image of that recently? I feel like I saw a photo that looked very similar to this waterfall, but was not this waterfall.

But I can't remember who posted it...

@jeffreytadlock Beautiful!

May I suggest the following #Alt4You , which provides more information than the alt text you provided?

A photograph or a rocky, forested area, lush with greenery and rich with plants, rocks, and lichen. The light is filtered by a canopy of light green leaves, leaving everything visible but most things slightly shadowed.

In the immediate foreground there's a single tree trunk on the left, growing out at an angle from a gently-tilted tumble of mossy rocks and then curving up towards the sun. The rough texture of the bark is easily visible.

To its right there's a large, flat rock with sharply-defined edges, topped with years of fallen sticks, twigs, moss, and dirt. The rock itself has spots of pale lichen peeking out from between clumps of debris.

Behind those there are more rocks and trees, followed by a a waterfall coming down from jutting rocks about halfway up the picture. It is the brightest part of the picture.

The waterfall has two distinct streams which start out almost equal in size, but one seems to shrink as it plummets, and the other is divided early on before spreading to rejoin itself. Both hit the water/rocks below with intense white spray.
