Picked up a splitting axe head at a trash'n'treasure market last week, and today I finally got it hafted.
The blade is blunt and has a chip in it, but a few test swings did a great job of splitting some stubborn logs I had in the wood pile. The head is heavy, and I've put a good sized handle on it.
I can already tell that when I've finished restoration it's going to be very satisfying to use.

Walked out today to find that a bite had been chewed out from my axe handle.
Because I coated it with linseed oil.
Dang possums, yo. I was wondering why it was making so much noise last night.
It's because it was snacking on MY TOOLS!
😭

@m @randomgeek : I'm just glad the possum didn't completely wreck the tool, otherwise I know ex-axe-ly the sort of puns we'd see.

@pjf I had to. I don't usually do puns because as you can see mine are blunt and unrefined.
But I read your tail and just had to take a bite. To do otherwise would have been
um
uh
IMPOSSUMBLE
