The loops.video instance has been submitted to #FediBlock with the reason being outlined below. I can't say I disagree, the terms of service presents a serious problem for user content rights, and this should be addressed before federation of loops.

Otherwise for the safety of your users I would highly suggest that instance admins defederate loops immediately once it comes online (assuming the TOS is not changed first)

I think the terms have been updated since then and @dansup needs to update the FAQ.

The weird section 7 mentioned in the FAQ is different from the section 7 in the current terms

@FlockOfCats@famichiki.jp seems like they did, like maybe 2-3 days after this post was published, so some of the points have changed, however the entire privacy policy remains the same, and the FAQ section proclaiming you grant loops a license to your content is still there (also the really weird clause about not reverse engineering their "open source" program is still on the TOS page??)

The weird part about trusted third parties and the sale of user data is still in the privacy policy under section 3 too

Although a lot was removed from the TOS, seemingly extremely quickly considering the FAQ page links to a section of the TOS which doesn't exist anymore too, there is still plenty of issues and things which were left the exact same there. I still think this has to be seriously addressed and more changes need to be made here.

@froge yeah it seems there is more to do — hopefully he will use some of that kickstarter money to hire a lawyer with open source software experience!
