It's been above freezing for over 24 hours! I went for a short walk in the woods and saw the first arthropods I've seen in a while: some little midges bobbing up and down in a sunbeam and an wicked little spider who came to dangle from my hat by a thread. Also, some kind turkey left me a nice feather beside the creek. A good day of socializing all around.

@catselbow I too have noticed the midges and the occasional fly. Snowdrops are in flower, the days are longer: the calendar says Winter, but Spring is on the way.
