[#]WritersCoffeeClub Jan 26- If people tell you they've always wanted to write, what do you say to them?
I gently nudge them towards keeping a journal of ideas with the key element being: "write for yourself first".
As much as people want to write for other people, it's important to write without thinking about outside opinions until you're able to feel comfortable* with your own writing process.
This is especially true in this moment.

The important thing for the new writer (in my personal advice and experience) is to begin to carve out space and time to practice writing without constraints and see what you enjoy.
Experimenting and having fun with writing is a great way to get started.
