I'm so fired up by I'M STILL HERE that I've ordered two volumes from Thomas Skidmore. Amazingly, there really isn't a lot in English on the Brazilian coup of 1964 and the subsequent military dictatorship. Two decades of fascism, torture, and "disappearances" of anyone perceived to be an "enemy." An awful period in Brazilian history that we should probably be studying now. Just in case. And we pretty much have little more than Skidmore? Really?
