Are there any open source tools for audio noise generation (the kind of noise some people like to fall asleep/study/work to)? I couldn't find any when I searched but it seems like the kind of thing there would be an open source project for.
(And yes I'm sure I could pipe /dev/random into my audio sink but that's not exactly configurable.)

@andyprice This seems like an enjoyable little project, to take a bunch of parameters and output something like a wav file. Do you have some specific parameters in mind?

@RogerBW No file output involved, these apps just generate endless noise with a certain "shape" to resemble rain, etc. or just white noise to help them block out external sounds. No intention to use it myself, I was just curious about what's out there to recommend to others :)
