Do I know anyone with the @frameworkcomputer 16” model? How does the screen work in Linux with regards to high-DPI settings? Is text readable at 100% zoom?

@zygoon I wear glasses and can read it. That said KDE tends to do better with fractional scaling (if want to go this way) than GNOME. But GNOME is catching up. If using Fedora 41 Workstation, this little tip can do wonders. https://github.com/FrameworkComputer/linux-docs/blob/main/framework16/Fedora41-fw16.md#bonus-step-for-former-mac-users-reduce-font-scaling-to-match-your-needs

@frameworkcomputer thank you for responding! Do I understand your message correctly that under gnome on, say, Fedora 41, 100% zoom is readable for a person wearing eyeglasses?

I'm trying to decide between the 13" model with 2.8K screen and the 16" model. Any insight or FAQ link will greatly help.

@zygoon I'll be at work Monday, I'll capture some screen photos with text so I can better demonstrate the difference. Issue is what's readable to one person may differ for another. So images with text may be easier.

@zygoon @frameworkcomputer Just my opinion, but I don't think 100% is particularly pleasant on the 16. At 16", 1080p is about the optimal framebuffer size for ui/text in my opinion, so something between 125% and 150% would be what I'd recommend for 2k. 150% for me at 2k, my eyes hurt a lot from squinting even at 15" 1080p 100%.

Ed (@kcza) has a 16" if you'd like to ask his thoughts.

I think the 13" at 200% scale with the new screen would be what I'd personally go for, easier on my eyes.
