It’s never too late to start masking again.

Repeat covid infections are not inevitable, no matter how much the government tries to say they are.

When you wear a mask you help normalize them as public health tools. You make mask bans harder.

You increase disability visibility, which we need now more than ever.

I have had COVID once and it was traumatic. Since then I have taken great care to make sure it does not happen again. Unfortunately the only real way to make sure of that given the lack of care from everyone else has been to mostly isolate...

@broadwaybabyto I know covid can be asymptomatic but I haven't had symptoms of any respiratory illness since masking

@broadwaybabyto It also works for the flu. Here in mid Maine, more than 50% of the kids were out this past week (from school) with the flu.

And covid. (My wife is an NP. They are overrun with both.)

@broadwaybabyto I've started masking again at my public facing job, and just a quick "oh hey I'm not sick there's just a bug going around I don't want to catch" dispels most all the awkwardness.

Picking masking back up is a lot easier than I thought, and nobody has given me flak for it so far.
