@jemal At my very best, I just pipe the outputs to a text file. You're right, sed is just as crazy.

@benpocalypse Yeah, same.

A friend of mine from way back (Greg S. Ubben) spent some time remaking various Unix command-line tools with sed. (He called it GSU: Greg's Sed Unix, because those were the jokes we made in the mid-90s.) But you could just skip installing GNU awk and tr and whatnot as long as you had sed, which, I know, makes no sense.
