When historians look back at the fall of America in the 2020s, they will say to themselves, "But it all could have been avoided if you had simply given every American a fair shot: a living wage, affordable housing, human rights, decent prices." They will marvel over our failure to summon fiercely benevolent progressive voices capable of holding a crowd from a population of 334 million people. And future nations will repeat the same mistakes. There will always be tyrants.
