[EOLE2024] New EU rules for open source and open science communities: how to fit in?
Understanding the new EU regulations, such as CRA and AIact, and their impact on our open source and open science practices can be difficult. In these communities, some questions have been raised, such as: What does the CRA apply to? How does open source fit into the AI Act? What is the data policy for research data in the EU?

In order to try to answer these questions, we organised a one-day meeting in Turin in December 2024 with the theme "Navigating the new EU regulatory landscape in Open Source". All the discussions allowed us to write a full summary, in the form of a FAQ, raising and answering the main questions that can be asked on key issues.
