In order to try to answer these questions, we organised a one-day meeting in Turin in December 2024 with the theme "Navigating the new EU regulatory landscape in Open Source". All the discussions allowed us to write a full summary, in the form of a FAQ, raising and answering the main questions that can be asked on key issues.

[EOLE2024] New EU rules for open source and open science communities: how to fit in?

Understanding the new EU regulations, such as CRA and AIact, and their impact on our open source and open science practices can be difficult. In these communities, some questions have been raised, such as: What does the CRA apply to? How does open source fit into the AI Act? What is the data policy for research data in the EU?

Ce temps de discussion permettra de questionner les pratiques et valeurs portées par le "low code - no code" ainsi que les points de vigilance à prendre en compte face à l'évolution du marché et notamment l'arrivée de l'IA générative. Ce sera à la fois l'occasion de rappeler la place de l'humain, mais aussi la nécessité d'une collaboration accrue au profit d'une transformation de plus en plus rapide de nos organisations.

Ce guide, sous licence libre, a pour objectif de :

• vous aider à mieux comprendre les enjeux du CRA pour les acteurs du numérique et de l'Open Source,

• clarifier les obligations des différents opérateurs économiques concernés par le CRA,

• Identifier les responsabilités de chacun et les moments clés pour garantir la conformité d'un produit à chaque phase de sa mise sur le marché.
