Yeah. 🙁 Literally the only reason I can do this is that I’m funding it from past successes (non-game in my case). I’m guessing a bunch of previously successful indies will do the same. But after that? 😕
I’m an ageing dude now, I don’t have to worry about a “future” career very much so I’m lucky. If I did, I’d definitely think twice about going all-in on the games industry. I tried when I was young & failed to get hired, & I think that was secretly a blessing

@sinbad @glassbottommeg yeah, I tried to get into indie game dev in late 90s early 00s with the first Symbian phones, when the SDK was still assembly. IIRC the C/C++ was later.. I got a friend from US to back me up in a VC style, but I failed to deliver honestly. And I really consider that a blessing now :)
The older I get tho I feel like games may give a better way to express myself than for example demoscene… but it’s also hard to consciously step into an area that’s so oversaturated :/
