@depereo Well here's a possible scenario:

Winston releases his Cook Strait ferry rail enabled option.

National say no way costs too much.

Winston claims that because New Zealand needs and deserves a proper transport system and Cook Strait is a major part of that he can no longer support this coalition (oh and I don't want to make Seymour DPM)

This becomes more likely the higher in the polls NZ1st is.

@depereo yeah if tanking Winston could think this is only way to get a boost best use it. Just if Winston thinks he'd have a stronger position he's more likely.

@ArrestJK people would feel happier with proper ferries. SI exports and imports via boats are critical, there's recent pain on the pocket from ferries falling apart, and it feels like a roulette to ride in even good weather.

I think it'd be a bloody good campaign fight and Winston could do very well out of it with his typical condescending tone to the 'children' he was in coalition with but who ultimately did not retain his confidence.

@ArrestJK @depereo I'm sure total incompetence is a perfectly adequate explanation, but Winston is certainly experienced enough to know how to take advantage of an opportunity when it arises.
