Took a day trip to Victoria today, & got some cool shit.

I’m blown away by this VMP pressing of Hootenanny. The OG is not the most sonically fit recording to begin with, but DAMN does this sound outstanding.

Great separation & soundstage, & really alive sounding. I mean, this may sound better than the original.

ITS THAT FUCKING GOOD.

Great packaging, too, & a great booklet.

@TheVinylApe2 I like that album a lot. It’s loose and kinda goofy, but that gives it charm. And the “Love, Kitten! / oh yeah, oh yeah! / Kitten! / oh yeah, oh yeah!” In “Lovelines” is just 👨‍🍳💋.

@donutage 😂 I know man. They just did whatever the fuck they wanted genre wise, and had the balls to open the album with an improv’d song meant to fuck with their label head (who couldn’t see them) with everyone playing different instruments.

Their first truly great album. The first TRUE Replacements album.
