I recently ordered a wood chipper attachment for our tractor. The one I decided to get is made in Canada and I am buying direct from the manufacturer. Orders are backed up a bit so they do not expect to ship one to me until sometime in the first part of February. The company made it clear that if a tariff is imposed before the chipper heading to me crosses the border into the USA then I will have two choices.
Option 1: I pay the tariff and the chipper continues on its way to me.
Option 2: I decline to pay the tariff in which case the company refunds 100% of my down payment and cancels the order.

@mappingsupport My spouse is a small-business handweaver, and sometimes sources the yarn for projects from Canada—we’ve been talking through the same conundrum the last couple of days and she’s rushing to put together an order and trying to think about storage. Absolutely, completely, absurdly ridiculous situation
