The advantage of a Framework modular laptop is that I'm not afraid to give it to my kid, that he'll break something (or that I'll break something).
I can order any part for fair price and replace it at home, even without taking it in for repair (and I need only one screwdriver already in the box with laptop).

iFixit shows how easy it is to upgrade the processor, screen, and webcam in Framework laptop.
Framework recently released updates to these components - as a result, you don’t have to buy a new laptop.
I’ve already ordered everything. The new screen is amazing.

I also liked the interview with the CEO of Framework.
Instead of a huge soulless corporation, there is a small team of really enthusiastic people.
The CEO sits on the Framework forum and often explains the reasons for some decisions.

A new display for my Framework laptop came in.
I replaced it (just need a screwdriver that comes with the laptop).
Now I have 120 Hz, brighter by 100 nits, and more screen space at 200% zoom.
The guys fixed the only serious disadvantage of the laptop.
With Framework, you really feel like you own the device, not “rent” it from the manufacturer.
You know how it works inside, you can quickly fix it yourself, you upgrade it as new devices are released.

Next Framework laptop update delivery.
Also, you do not need a sticker over webcam. It has kill-switch with a placeholder image (to not change webcam number in the system).

The default has the same color as the body of the laptop.
But I want them to popup, so laptop will look unique and people will ask about it on the conference.

I screw/unscrew 73 fasteners because it was so important for me.

Win key is symbol of Linux user discrimination which was around for 20 years.
It is so cool that Framework care about Linux so much.

The advantage of modular laptop (like the Framework 13):
Wanted to switch to WiFi 7 (a free new 6 GHz frequency) — ordered a new WiFi card on AliExpress for €20 and replaced it in 5 minutes.
By the way, the MT7925 works great on Linux and AMD processors.
Replaceable WiFi cards aren’t a unique feature of the Framework. It used to be a standard (just like upgrading RAM in a laptop).
But marketers, in their weird chase for thinness, have made WiFi card replacement a rare feature nowadays.
