Well, I had the "pleasure" to test a local business app on a PC:
It started an Apache webserver,
that reverse-proxied to a Tomcat servlet container.
which built the web interface and forwarded the parameters
to CGI-BIN .exe
which had its business logic implemented in COBOL.
Accessed with the local webbrowser (IE, back then, of course) that was started from the same .BAT file.
And don't get me started with ABAP servlet pages (well, that's probably more like peak atrocities)
