I want to try to avoid using the term "fuck" as swear word, because I feel it perpetuates the patriarchal concept of sex being an inherently violent act and using this term in non-sexual contexts contributes to compulsory sexuality.
I was reminded of this just now by reading the chapter Male Sexual Being from bell hooks' The Will to Change again.
How do others feel about this and what are good alternatives?

@arjan I think fuck as swearing has shed it's sexual meaning. Certainly I've never said it or heard it in that context and immediately thought of sex. Same goes for the c word. I don't understand why you think that word, by itself, makes sex "violent" or what would be wrong with it being violent. Have you ever known women who wanted to be hit? I have and that's more violent than a vanilla sexual act of penetration. Things are more complicated than you allow.
