This essay by Jeremy Kun is the single text that has most influenced my research. Strongly recommended reading https://buttondown.com/j2kun/archive/whats-in-production/

I recorded my current talk for youtube! If you are interested in linear programming or theoretical computer science, this is for you

If you hate math there should still be some good stuff in there for you. We talk about the minimum wage debate, about the carceral system, and about the 2007 food embargo on the Gaza strip 🇵🇸

in 2019 the dutch military paid 10k€ for a single user license. later that year they upgraded to a compute server license for 43.010€. excluding 21% VAT

people i talked to were already skeptical when it first came out, since shoddy ML-for-optimization papers are published all the time. i am happy that at least for this paper there is robust follow-up on matters of research misconduct

remember alphachip, a 2021 google paper that claimed that their RL-based methods outperformed the state-of-the-art methods for chip macro placement?

according to this new meta-analysis, their results dont replicate and are full of errors. there's also been allegations of fraud 👀
