Man, the emigration stuff is just making me resent yet again how much of many societies' structures are built around your worth as a reproducer or in relationship to someone else.

If someone wanted to marry me, there's a path. But me as a human individual? Esp an older disabled woman? I have no "worth", despite people loving to steal my labor all my damned life.

Not to rub it in, but to emphasis the fuckery, in Australia the government has sent people "home" for having disabled children, too.

So even if you were married to someone deigned worthy, the existence of your disability might be enough to have some bureaucrat reject you both.
