On Jan 20, 2025 America began a new dark chapter in its history. Every day will bring new horrors and it will be hard to keep track of it all. So I am starting a new thread. I will add one post each day. That post will focus on one thing that the #Trump administration did that is harmful to America. Not just for liberals, but for an overwhelming majority of Americans.

First in the series:

1/20/25: Trump pardoned Robert Keith Packer, an unrepentant Nazi 1/6 rioter.

The long national nightmare continues. On to Day 2.

1/21/25: Trump pardoned Ross Ulbricht, the creator of the dark web drug marketplace Silk Road. The marketplace facilitated 1.5 million transactions, including sales of heroin and cocaine. At least six people died as a result.

Day 3 of the #Trump presidency.

1/22/25: Amid an escalating bird flu crisis, the new administration has cancelled all scientific meetings in public health agencies and gagged all public health agencies from speaking to the public. If this chaos continues for a few more days, it will cause unnecessary deaths.

Day 4 of the presidency of #IlDouche

1/23/25: Remember when #CryptoBros were all about keeping government out of currency? Now they want the government to buy into their Ponzi schemes with your tax dollars. And #Trump issued an executive order to get that scam going.

Crypto accounted for about half of all corporate donations to 2024 election, when it’s a tiny sliver of the economy. Now Trump will pay them back many times over: with our money!

Day 5 of the #Trump presidency:

1/24/25: The most unqualified nominee ever to run the Department of Defense has been confirmed. Someone who was fired from two small charities for mismanaging finances will manage our defense budget. Even Mitch McConnell voted against Hegseth.

“The final vote, 51 to 50, was the smallest margin for a defense secretary’s confirmation since the position was created in 1947, according to Senate records.”

Day of 6 the #Trump #oligarchy

1/25/25: Trump illegally fired 17 Inspectors General without notice to Congress. GOP senators don’t know why they were fired, and note that the 30-day notice required to Congress by law was NOT provided.

The #oligarchs who now run America are getting rid of oversight on government spending, setting the stage for massive corruption. They talk a big game on “DOGE” but what they are about it looting the Treasury.

Day 7 of the #Trump presidency

1/26/25: Republican senators are "urging" Trump to rethink his decision to strip the security detail of his former allies who are on Iran's hit list. Trump's action here is so petty, vindictive and bad for US national security that his closest allies in the senate are speaking about this to the press, because they can't get him to listen in private.

1/27/25: The #Trump administration has ordered a "pause" in grants and loans in a potentially illegal move, creating confusion.

If you are a farmer or small business owner who voted for Il Douche and now need a loan to tide you over, you played yourself. The federal government will not help you. If you run a nonprofit or benefit from the services provided by one, this order may be designed to kill that nonprofit.

Day 9, 1/28/25: #Trump has removed the security detail of Gen. Mark Milley, retired chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who is on Iran's target list. Milley's offense? He didn't go along with Trump's attempted coup d'etat in 2021 and he highlighted his oath "to the constitution, not to a tyrant."

Actions like this severely undermine US national security. Just the other day GOP senators "urged" Trump to reconsider this, and Trump is doubling down.

Day 10 , 1/29/25: When communities in the US face disaster, the president's job is to help. But #Trump thinks his job is to hog the limelight and take credit for actions he did not take. After the LA fires, Il Douche claimed that he sent in the army to turn on water from "the Pacific Northwest and beyond" to go to SoCal. No water from Washington and Oregon -- the PNW -- is going to SoCal. The feds restarted pumps office for maintenance for 3 days.

Day 11, 1/30/25: When a tragedy occurs, decent presidents focus on the facts and comforting those affected. Our long national nightmare continues as #Trump uses the midair collision to scapegoat people with disabilities, women and people of color before we any actual facts are known about what caused the crash. What he calls “common sense” is another word for evidence-free bigotry. Racism, ableism and sexism plus “the buck never stops here, ever!”

Day 12, 1/31/25: In another win for the #oligarchy over the American public, #Trump fired the head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The CFPB took aggressive action against junk fees, subscriptions that were difficult to cancel and other shenanigans like that. This firing is another transparent attempt to let #oligarchs continue stealing from the American people.

Trump campaigned on capping credit card interest. He did this instead.
