My wife came home, smelling like she just biked through a wildfire. My nostrils and sinuses are irritated, and the kid of friends had severe asthma attack and psoriasis all over from the air pollution. And all that bcs some think it's "cosy warmth".

Wood burners have no place in a modern city, especially not on days with inversions and no wind, trapping all that toxic air.

@JorisMeys There's this one valley in the French Alps which has worse air pollution than all the major French cities during winter. It's actually the only rural area covered by a national air quality improvement.

Policies enacted in this area include:

• open fire pits are forbidden and must be closed off

• enclosed fire pits are grandfathered but can no longer be installed new

• wood pellet and gas stoves grandfathered

• subsidies for insulation, electric heating, heat pumps, etc
